 1SG (Retired) Edward Ray George, 82, of Seale, AL passed away early Sunday morning, March 18, 2018 in the comfort of his home in Seale, AL.

A celebration of life graveside memorial service with full Military Honors will be held 2:30 pm EDT on Thursday March 22, 2018 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm EDT at Vance Memorial Chapel in Pheix City.  We would like to invite everyone to meet at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City on Thursday to leave in procession by 2:00 pm for Fort Mitchell National Cemetery

Mr. George was born January 16, 1936 in Decatur, AL to the late Dewey George and Mora Wright George.  He served as a Medic proudly in the United States Army serving during Vietnam War with 22 years of honorable service to our country.  He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors tinkering with different projects around his home.  He loved fishing and hunting and at one time took great pride in repairing old antique clocks.  He was a Baptist by faith.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Theresia Futshik George of Seale, AL, one son, Thery George and wife Robin of Canton, GA, sister, Margaret Haworth and husband Neal of Raleigh, NC, one precious granddaughter, Emily, and a host of extended family, and many caring friends.
