Agnes “Ag” M. Smith Jackson, 92, of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, September 14, 2017 in Columbus, GA

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EDT on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Skip Speed and Rev. Donald Edwards officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church on Sunday.

Mrs. Jackson was born September 14, 1925 in Columbus, GA to the late Joseph K. Smith and Lucy Blair Smith.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whom adored her family.   She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and engaging in volunteer work, especially at the Beauty Hut.  She has been a longtime member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Smiths Station.  Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Jackson, Sr., one sister, Pauline Huff, and a brother, John Smith.

She is survived by her son, Thomas F, Jackson, Jr. of Smiths Station, AL, one daughter, Elaine Smith of Phenix City, AL, one granddaughter, Brandi Sayedzada, loved as grandchildren, Keith and Mandy Slappey, and their children, Dean, Daylee, and Leah, numerous extended family members, church family, and many caring friends.

 In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Philadelphia Baptist Church, Columbus Hospice, or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Mrs. Agnes Jackson.  Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net
