Agnes Phenix Martin

Agnes Phenix Martin, 82, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

A Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, May 22, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Wilhite officiating.  A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends this evening from 4:00 until 6:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mrs. Martin was born June 4, 1934 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Alex Phenix and Eva Mae Poore Phenix.  She worked as a Surgical Nurse for many years, including over twenty years at Doctors Hospital.  Mrs. Martin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, as well as, a former member of the Eastern Star.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Phenix.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her loving husband, Delmar H. Martin, Sr. of Phenix City, AL; a daughter, Cynthia Otwell of Columbus, GA; two sons, Delmar Martin, Jr. of Phenix City, AL and Mark E. Martin and wife Stephanie of Huntsville, AL; two sisters, Peggy Phenix Welch and Robbie Phenix Conway, both of Columbus, GA; one brother, James Earl Phenix of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Maya Martin, Tyson Martin, Sean Martin, Kayla Martin, Alex Martin, Nicholas Martin, Patrick Otwell, Garrett Otwell and Rachel Meagan Otwell; great-grandchildren, Kedrick, Ayden, Maximus, Jaxson, Wyatt and Alyssa; several other extended family members and friends.
