Alice Faye Chauvaux

Alice Fay Whitehurst Chauvaux, 62, of Columbus, GA passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, GA.  

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Fay was born June 21, 1953 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late McGilder McGhee Whitehurst and Sarah Paul Rayburn Whitehurst.  She retired from the Medical Center as a Surgical Technician and was avid lover of animals.  Fay was a licensed beautician.  She loved playing Rockband, with her family, Casino on the tablet, sewing, babysitting her grandchildren and scrapbooking with her daughters.  She will be missed by all.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Chauvaux and mother-in-law, Myrlene Chauvaux.

Fay is survived by two daughters, Michele Hamilton and husband Heath of Salem, AL and Tracy Chauvaux and fiancé Joshua of Columbus, GA; one son, Brandon Chauvaux of Columbus, GA; three sisters, Linda Johnson of Hamilton, GA, Angela Wright of Columbus, GA and Annette Woodward and husband Herman of Gainsville, GA; two brothers, David Roland Whitehurst and wife Judy of Riverdale, GA and Mackey Whitehurst of Columbus, GA; two grandchildren Nez and Tess Hamilton; father-in-law, Raymond Chauvaux; her close friend Ruby Crittenden, many other family members and friends.  Additionally, she is survived by her dog Holly and several cats.
