Alice Faye Spivey

Alice Faye Yeamons Spivey, 77, of Phenix City, AL passed away at her home on March 4, 2017 and is now at her eternal home in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 3:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. M. R. Hamilton and Rev. Charles Keown officiating.  A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Spivey was born on January 14, 1940 in Phenix City, AL to the late Thomas R. Yeamons and Huran Pittman Hinson.  Having worked in the medical and legal fields, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse by graduating from Opelika Technical College’s LPN program.  She was a caregiver at heart who faithfully served her family and patients.  She was a long time member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL where she served in many capacities including Vacation Bible School, Children’s Sunday School and Choir, Alleluia Choir, and Amen Choir. 

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Frank Spivey and stepfather, William Hinson.  She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 57 years, Roy Frank Spivey, daughters, Lisa Ann Spivey of Phenix City, AL and Kathyjo Spivey Gordon and husband Michael of Gray, GA; grandsons Kameron, Kevin and Kyle Gordon; a sister Jo Ann Yeamons Holland (Bobby), sister in law Josephine Slappey, brother in law John Spivey (Phyllis); numerous nephews and nieces, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.  Her life was impacted greatly by her loving caregiver, friend, and companion Rosa Moses.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to: The Amen Choir, Lakewood Baptist Church 4011 Lakewood Drive, Phenix City, AL  36867.  Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net
