Alma Joyce Huckaby

Alma Joyce Huckaby, 77, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away peacefully on Friday evening, April 24, 2015 at Columbus Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EDT Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Barry Danner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, April 27, 2015 from 6pm until 8pm at Vance Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Huckaby was born July 29, 1937 in Nashville, GA to the late Samuel McGlashan and Vera Kight McGlashan. She was retired from Ft. Benning Civil Service where she was a secretary and was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Kelley, Janie Grimes and Linda Graddy. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lamar Huckaby; loving mother to her four children, Terri Huckaby, David Huckaby, Kevin Huckaby and Darin Huckaby; siblings, Hazel Atkins, Cecile Davis and Sarah Overstreet; grandchildren, Gavin Ives, Matthew, Emily and Phoebe Huckaby, Garrett Huckaby and Courtney, Caleb and Cailey Huckaby; great-grandchild, Addison Stafford; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many caring friends.
