Mr. Alton Sellers

Mr. Alton Sellers, 91, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at Canterbury Health Facility in Phenix City, AL.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, October 25, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward and Chaplain Dean Knipe officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 until 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Sellers was born February 28, 1930 in Winston, AL, son of the late Millard Sellers and Mary E. Sellers.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired after 21 years of service.  During his tenure with the US Army, he was a Bronze Star recipient. Mr. Sellers later retired again from the State of Alabama, having worked over 20 years with the Department of Human Resources (DHR).  Additionally, he retired as a minister in the Freewill Baptist Church.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marion Stamps Sellers; children Sherrie Craig and husband Joe of Vinemont, AL, Robert Clements and wife Marci of Cullman, AL, Tim Sellers and wife Rhonda of Hanceville, AL, Susan Hartman and husband Lance of Phenix City, AL and Alan Ray of Phenix City, AL; two sisters; three brothers; eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild as well as many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.  The Sellers Family prefer mask be worn.
