Andrew Buck Chocklett, age 76, resident of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at his residence with his family by his side.

A Memorial Service with military honors will held at 2:00 PM EST on Monday December 12, 2022, at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Bro. James Bailey officiating.

Mr. Chocklett, son of the late Andrew Bass Chocklett and Mary Waller Chocklett, was born May 1, 1946, in Perry, Georgia.  He was retired from the Virginia National Guard where he served his country honorably for over 20 years.  After retiring from the military, he worked in the pulp wood industry and as a Security Guard for several years.  Mr. Chocklett enjoyed being outside.  He would often go wild boar hunting and enjoyed just spending a day working in his yard.  When Mr. Chocklett was inside his home, he would be seen watching classic western movies or reading classic western novels.  The family remembers him as a man who loved his family immensely and someone that would always help others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an Infant son, Baby Chocklett.

Mr. Chocklett is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joyce Chocklett of Smiths Station, Alabama; three sons, Andrew “Bucky” Chocklett and his wife Michele of Powell, TN, Steven “Rocky” Chocklett and his wife Marlette of Bedford, Virginia, and Thaddeus “Danny” Chocklett and his wife Regina of Lynchburg, Virginia; one sister, Virginia Short and her husband Rickey of Brookneal, Virginia; stepdaughter, Melissa Paschal and her husband Robbie of Salem, Alabama; one step-son, Daniel Dees and his wife Becky, also of Salem, Alabama; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
