A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Fellowship Church, Warm Springs, GA with Pastor Bryan Gibson officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
Angel was born June 30, 1963 in Warm Springs, GA daughter of the late William H. “Bill” Brown and Mozell Chapman Brown. She retired after over 25 years of service with AFLAC in Client Services.
Angel’s love of life was infectious as was her smile. She loved to make others smile and feel loved. Trips to the river with family and friends were always special times of fun and fellowship. Nothing meant more to her than spending time with those she loved the most, family and friends. She also enjoyed the beach especially St. George Island, FL where she would set up a chair on the beach to soak up the sun and feel those gulf waves. Angel inherited the green thumb of her Mom and loved flowers. She enjoyed time spent in her flowerbeds watching the butterflies and birds those flowers brought to the garden. Angel never met a stranger no matter where she went. This endeared her to those who knew her best as they knew an adventure with her was bound to be filled with fun and new people. She has left us far sooner than we expected, but the many precious memories we shared will forever be in our hearts.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Dennis Lackey; sisters, Sara Diane (Doe) Brown of Manchester, Sue Maloney and husband Keith of Woodbury, Ga and Tina Jo Brown, Manchester, GA; brother, William Kenneth (Ken) Brown of Manchester, GA; nephew and nieces, Michael Sanders, Jennifer Noland and Hannah Lea Brown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Angela Ligon and husband Tony, James Allen Lackey, John Robert Lackey, William Lackey and wife Tammy, Jimmy Dean Lackey and wife Jeana; a special cousin, Oscar Singleton of Tampa, FL; and numerous other loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Angel’s memory can be made to, The Community Chest, 215 Sunset Drive, Pine Mountain, Ga 31822.
