Ann Clark Morrison

Ann Clark Morrison, 86, of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Columbus, GA. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Ann was born January 9, 1937 in Baxley, GA, daughter of the late Robert Cecil Clark, Sr and Sarah Jane Googe Clark. She was an executive secretary for most of her career working for organizations, such as, Kinnett Dairy, Columbus Jaycees and the AFL-CIO union in Ft. Benning. She lived most of her life in Columbus, GA before retiring to Hilton Head Island, SC to be closer to her beloved daughters and their families. Ann was the president of the PTA and a Girl Scout leader. She was an excellent seamstress who made all of her daughter’s prom dresses. Ann was a devoted Christian and prayer warrior. Prior to retiring, she was a member of Miller Road Sanctified Church of Christ. Her pearls of wisdom included “A wise man changes his mind, a fool never does”. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who adored her family.

Other than her parents, Ann is preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert Joseph Jefferson Morrison, her brothers James Lonnie Clark and Robert Cecil Clark, Jr. and her sister Dorothy Clark Baker, as well as nephews Raymond Morrison, Mark Morrison and Jackie Morrison, and niece Patricia Norris Wilson.

Ann is survived by her daughters Debbie McCandless (Jeff) of Hilton Head, SC, Patti Mack (Tom) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren Erica Welliver (Aaron), Jeffrey McCandless, Jr, Cheri Lott (Tyler), Brandon Mack, and Chandler Mack; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Praise God who is faithful and true. He has received her with joy unspeakable.
