Anne S. Tanyas

Anne Sinea Tanyas, 99, of Columbus, GA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the comfort of her home in Columbus, GA.

Anne was born August 23, 1918 in Ellwood City, PA.  She was the daughter of Dan Sinea and Ana Florea Sinea Lazar.  Anne graduated from Bazetta High School and attended Warren Business College.  She was retired as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration.

She was married to Rev. V. W. (Bill) Tanyas for 63 years until his death in January 2007.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dan Sinea, and sisters, Mary Sinea Dolgae, Elizabeth Sinea Festian, and Helen Sinea Molnar.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  Ann’s mission in life was to please her Lord and her husband as they served together as co-laborers in Christian ministry.  Her heartfelt calling was to missions whom she actively supported through prayer, activities, and contributions.  She also enjoyed playing the piano in many churches where they served over the years and at services at Riverplace Retirement Community.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbus, GA.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Columbus, GA.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Riverplace Retirement Community for each kindness extended to her and to all her loyal caregivers who have loved and cared for her over the years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Columbus with Dr. Jimmy Elder and Rev. Malcolm Wade officiating.  Interment will follow at 1:30 pm at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at First Baptist in the church chapel.  Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net
