Annie “Laura” Hart Clemmons, 76, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2015 in the comfort of her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EDT Friday morning, July 10, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home. Mrs. Clemmons was born April 22, 1939 in Russell County, AL to the late Sherman Clifton Hart and Inez Lanier Hart. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply. She participated and supported the Salvation Army, all missions, and our Veterans. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Phenix City. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Clifton Lee Williams, and three brothers, John W. Hart, Sherman C. Hart, Jr., and Aubie Hart. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Robert “Wayne” Clemmons of Phenix City, AL, daughter, Rita Trawick of Columbus, GA;; son, Curtis Randall Williams of Phenix City, two sisters, Delores J. Ellis of Dothan, Al, and Helen Inez Williams of Kentucky. Three grandchildren, Christina Yarbrough and husband Keith, Matthew Williams, and Mary Crisp, four great grandchildren, Clayton, Lindsey, Hailey, and Abigail, close dear friend, Pam Trant; numerous other loving family members, church family, neighbors, and many caring friends.
