Annie Mae Dykes Stringfellow

Annie Mae Dykes Stringfellow, 81, of Crawford, AL passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 in the comfort of her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EDT Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Crawford Baptist Church in Phenix City with Rev. Steve Williamson officiating. A private interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery and the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Scott Dykes, Greg Dykes, Dexter Dykes, Steve Rogers, Andy Dawson, Jeffrey Dykes, Julian Abercrombie, and Bert Carroll. . Mrs. Stringfelllow was born November 13, 1932 in Barbour County, AL to Willie B. Dykes and Clara Leona Green Dykes. She retired from Tom's Foods and was a member of Crawford Baptist Church and the Ready Gleaners Sunday School Class. She enjoyed church, working in her yard, and spending time with family. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Jessie Dykes Dawson and three brothers, Odell Dykes, C. W. Dykes and Lloyd Dykes. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 59 years, James W. Stringfellow, two brothers, Bascum Dykes and wife Faye, and Donald Dykes and wife Glenda, three sisters, Lila Powell, Flossie Harden, and Grace Stone, and one brother-in-law, Leo Dawson and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her church family and friends and to her caregivers, Nancy Cherry, Belinda Jones, and Christina Bowden, and special neighbors Tom and Barbara Long. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Crawford Baptist Church Building fund.
