Annie Ruth Franklin Jackson, 84, of Phenix City, AL died Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the home of her son, in Athens, AL with her family by her side.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL with Rev. Randy Comer officiating and her grandchildren singing according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jackson was born July 23, 1937 daughter of the late William Elton Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Lashley Franklin. She had retired from Central Elementary as a Para-pro and Librarian, a job she enjoyed every day. After her retirement, she began caring for her grandchildren, a job she loved! She also loved to garden, camping, fishing and especially crafting. Mrs. Jackson found great joy in making crafts for her family and friends. She has instilled in her family a love of teaching and caring for her family. We will miss her in our daily routine, but she will always be cherished in our hearts.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband of 65 years, Earnie Leon Jackson.
Survivors include her two sons, Mike Jackson (Lori), Phenix City, AL and Mark Jackson (Susan), Athens, AL; seven grandchildren, Reed Jackson (Amanda), Jonathan Jackson (Sydney), Wes Jackson (Andi), Karli Beason (Joel), Taylor Jackson (Sabrina), Mary Beth Hill (Jacob) and Troy Jackson, eleven great-grandchildren, Aelynn, Oliver, Jackson, Brooklyn, Avery, Amelia, Austin, Noah, Juliette, Brynlee and Edith and extended family and friends also survive.
