Annie Ruth Wood Parsons

Annie Ruth Wood Parsons, 93, formerly of Phenix City, AL, passed away Wednesday Loganville, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm EST, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. An interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parsons was born on December 10, 1924, in Richland, GA daughter of the late Daniel Polk and Nannie Joe Walker Polk. She worked for Western Union for 42 years and was a longtime member of Golden Acres Baptist Church. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by two husbands, James M. Wood and Haywood Parsons; two sisters, Louise Bullard and Emma Shepherd; brother Stillman Polk.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Deal and husband Nolan of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Robert L. Wood of Atlanta, GA and James Everett Wood and wife Barbara of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Robert H. Wood and wife Danielle, Joel Wood, Dr. Nicole Broerman and husband Scott, and Brian Stack; 7 great-grandchildren; many other extended family and caring friends.
