April Michelle Lee

April Michelle Lee, 30 of Smiths Station, AL, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, in Newnan, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST, on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Bethany Baptist Church in Phenix City, with Reverend Jimmie Hobbs officiating.  A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends this evening from 5pm until 8pm at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.

April was born on January 14, 1986 in Columbus, GA. She was a nurse at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, GA   and she had a passion for the NICU unit.  April was a graduate of Smiths Station High School, where she was a cheerleader; a graduate of CSU where she was a cheerleader and graduated with honors in the nursing program. She was attending the University of South Alabama working on her Master’s degree.  She loved yoga and acrobatics.

She is survived by her father, Gregory W. Lee, and her mother, Robin Griggs Huckaby and Cleven Leon Huckaby who raised and loved her as his own. Her grandparents Howard and Jacqueline Griggs and Betty Jeanette Huckaby –Stevenson.  A son, Cameron Michael Lee;  siblings Ashley Huckaby Phelps and husband Mark; Clayton Leon Huckaby, Christina Lee, and Stephanie Lee, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
