Archie Tyson Turner, 93, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Columbus Hospice House, while surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held 4:00 pm EST Friday, June 14, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Robert Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Mr. Turner was born March 20, 1926 in Barbour County, AL son of the late Henry Clayton Turner and Susie Price Turner. He worked with Alabama Power and retired after 32 years of loyal service. Mr. Turner proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a 70 year member of the IBEW and a former member of the Phenix City Jaycees. Mr. Turner enjoyed golf, fishing and college football, especially the Auburn Tigers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, and a step-son, Mike Adcock.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Harden Turner of Phenix City, AL; daughters, Jamie Turner Cook and husband Richard of Salem, AL and Kelly Turner of Phenix City, AL; a step-daughter, Miki Huckaby of Phenix City, AL, two step-sons, Derek Brown and wife Jennifer of Aspen, CO and Phillip Adcock and wife Cynthia of Griffin, GA; step-daughter-in-law, Linda Adcock of Flowery Branch, GA, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and numerous friends.
