Arlis Byron Chapman, 80, of Phenix City, AL died at Lakewood Nursing Home, on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM (EST) ON Friday, October 08, 2021 in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Chapman was born April 08, 1941 in Columbus, GA son of the late Richard Arlis Chapman and Lillian Armstrong Chapman. He had retired from West Point Pepperell as a Weaver after many dedicated years of service. Mr. Chapman loved baseball attending his children’s and grandchildren’s games as well as professional games. He never met a stranger and often found a family connection while talking to someone. Mr. Chapman enjoyed sharing stories of his childhood and family history. A gift he often shared with his family. A favorite pastime was watching old westerns. We will remember his charismatic personality, love of any animal but most of all his love of family. He instilled in his family a hard work ethic, commitment to family and helping others.
Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Marion Edge Chapman and a son, Christopher Chapman.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Cox Chapman, Phenix City, AL; son, Byron Dodd Chapman, wife, Lisa, Phenix City, AL; daughter, Donya Gallman and husband Tim of Smiths Station, AL; two younger children, Clarence Chapman of Columbus, GA and Cyric Chapman of Phenix City, AL; a brother, Tony Chapman, wife, Michele; five grandchildren, Trace Adam Gallman, Miley Grace Gallman, River Chapman, Ariana Chapman and Jacob Russ Chapman; nieces, nephews, cousins and extend family and friends.
