Arnell Smith “Sue” Graves

Arnell “Sue” Smith Graves, 85, of Columbus, GA died at Piedmont, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM (EST) on Saturday, July 1, 2023 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Reverend Anthony Counts officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM (EST) at the funeral home.

Mrs. Graves was born February 22, 1938 in Coffee County, AL daughter of the late A. Z. Hattaway and Clara Mae Bryan Hattaway. She had retired from Diversified Products as a Press Operator after 25 years of service.  We will miss her in our daily routine, but she is forever cherished in our hearts.

Mrs. Graves was preceded in death by her parents, A.Z. and Clara Mae Hattaway; her husband, Billy Joe Smith, a brother, Pete Hattaway and a granddaughter, Shelly Nicole Tidwell.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Lorraine Gottfried (Robert), Columbus, GA; two sons, James Kenneth Tidwell (Wanda Gail), Mock, GA and Patrick Wayne Tidwell, Columbus, GA; one sister, Jean Cornett; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Bob, Holly, Brandon, Terry, Keith and Kim; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.
