Ashley Elizabeth Olson

Ashley Elizabeth Olson, 40, of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully surrounded by family while at St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, GA on Sunday, August 20, 2023.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Billy Ledbetter officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ashley was born July 26, 1983 in Columbus, GA daughter of Edwin Olson and Sandra Jendze Nevels. She was a homemaker who loved being a stay-at-home mom. Her family was her life. This time allowed her to also pursue the passion and talent she inherited from her maternal grandfather, being an artist. She was always creating new and fresh pieces. These special pieces will now become masterpieces to our family. Ashley was also an avid Tennessee Vol’s fan. She looked forward to football season and the weekend fun it brought with it. Ashley was always so compassionate and loving toward others. She always seemed to put others first. Ashley in now resting peacefully in Heaven, but she will always be a cherished memory in our hearts.
Ashley was preceded in death by her step-dad, William “Bill” Nevels; maternal grandfather Arnis Jendze; paternal grandparent, Edwin and Shirley Olson; a step-brother, Brent Nevels.
She is survived by her father, Edwin Olson (Kimberly), Exeter, PA and mother, Sandra Jendze Nevels, Smiths Station, AL; spouse, Michael Berg; daughter, Greenleigh Elizabeth Berg and son, Drayden Michael Berg both of Smiths Station, AL; two sisters, Amanda Sloane (Scott), Panama City Beach, FL and Andrea Williams (Jake), Fortson, GA; two step-sisters, Beth Pike (Sonny), Smiths Station, AL and Melissa Stone, W. Piston, PA; one step-brother, Shawn Stone, Plains, PA; maternal grandmother, Joy Jendze; NC; eight nieces and nephews, Kyle and Hunter Sloane, Kenzleigh Carter, Brittany Webb, Abby and Dawson Pike; Peyton and Korbyn Nevels; numerous other family members and friends.
