Barbara Ann Franklin Brown, 86, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully at her home on Christmas morning, December 25, 2021.
Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 PM (EST) on Friday, December 31, 2021 in Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Roy Kiser and Rev. Joe Brown officiating. The family will receive friends 10:30 AM till 11:30AM at the funeral home on Friday.
Mrs. Brown was born January 17, 1935 in Russell County, AL daughter of the late Homer Cary Franklin and Inez Dorman Franklin. Before retiring, she had a long career in various positions with both Cobb Memorial Hospital and Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Brown was a lifelong member of Ladonia Baptist Church where she had many friends and enjoyed leading the Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Brown enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, crafts and could beat anyone at a good crossword puzzle! She will be greatly missed for her unique sense of humor and immense care for others. We will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward L. Brown; a brother Homer C. Franklin, Jr. and a granddaughter, Amanda Taylor.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Drawdy, Box Springs, GA; two sons, Jeffrey Alan Brown (Kathy) and Larry Edward Brown both of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Kiser (Roy), and Kathryn Deliz (Dan); two brothers, Jack Franklin and Ray Franklin (Katie); four grandchildren, Joe Brown, Daphne Walker, Angela Justice and Robert Brown; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
