Barbara Jean Sheheane

January 16, 1940 — January 19, 2016

Barbara Jean Sheheane, 76, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016, peacefully with her loving husband by her side at Magnolia Manor, 2010 Warm Springs Road, Columbus, GA.  A memorial service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Saturday, January 23, 2016 beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST.  Pastor Colley Williams will be officiating.   

Barbara was born January 16, 1940 in Boston, MA to the parents of the late Frank Kessler and Murial Black.  Barbara was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse, previously employed by Dr. Richard Wood at the Columbus Clinic.  She was very creative and enjoyed sewing, crafting as well as spending time with her family.  Barbara loved everyone.

Survivors include her loving spouse of 29 years, Lee Sheheane; two daughters:  Cindy Jenkins (Jeff) of Mt. Holly, NC; Nancy Osborn (Joe) of Statham, Ga; one son:  Scott Sheheane (Starlett) of Gainesville, FL; one sister:  Kathleen “Pinky” Kavanaugh (Ted) of Boston, MA; one aunt, Betty Gelston of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren:  Joshua, Danielle, Ashleigh, Sara and Alivia; two great grandchildren:  Lilah Grace and Anya Serenity; and one expected great grandchild, Liam Reid Booz.
