Mrs. Barbara Lee Sievers

Mrs. Barbara Lee Sievers, 76, of Columbus, GA passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ronnie Madden officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sievers was born August 17, 1944 in New York City, NY, daughter of the late Charles H. Gunter, Jr. and Ruth Wolff Midget.  She managed Dr. Cohen’s Pediatric Clinic, worked at Cobb Hospital and finally retired from the Pastoral Institute and became a full time granny.  Mrs. Sievers was a people person and loved spending time with her friends.  She also enjoyed puzzles, bingo and shopping, but most of all, spending time with her family and helping raise her babies.  Mrs. Sievers is a former member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Columbus, GA.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Sievers, Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Graves and husband Ronny of Harris County, GA; a son, John Sievers and wife Melissa of Columbus, GA; three sisters, Debra Davis (George) of Panama City, FL, Carol DeOivera of Queens, NY and Donna Midget of Worcester, MA; three brothers, Charles H. Gunter (Barbara) of Silver Lake, OH, Paul R. Wells (Debbie) of Albany, GA and Brent Gunter (Kathy) of Sylacauga, AL; grandchildren, Katie Collier (Jerry), Madeline Campbell (Michael), Nicholas Graves, Allison Sievers, Ryan Graves and Hannah Graves; three great-grandchildren, Landon and Hunter Collier and Amelia Campbell; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends
