Barron Lee Galbreath, 61, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away suddenly, yet peacefully on Sunday October 27, 2024. A home-going service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Barry's legacy to Evangel Church or Paws Animal Shelter in Columbus.
Barry was born on September 2, 1963 to the late Dr. C.W. "Sonny" Galbreath and Glenda Pritchett Galbreath in Fort Benning, Georgia. He grew up in Columbus, Georgia, and attended Brookstone High School. He had an instinctive kindness towards people, which is the foundation of compassion and genuine service. He was thoughtful in deeds, tender with the weak, tolerant of the misguided, easy-going in chaos, indulgent with the broken, and softhearted with animals, children, or a stranger having a "rough" day. Barry strengthened the lives around him by generously listening, verbally encouraging, and he was most happy meeting the need of a friend.
He is survived by his sister, Carla Bader-Henderson; brother Brent Galbreath (Anna); two nephews Banks Bader and Caleb Galbreath (Laura); one niece Rachel Green (Kyle); and three great-nephews: Luca, Kiah, and Edmund; as well as many friends that he considered "his own".
