Berma W. Tolson

Berma W. Tolson, 86, of Phenix City, AL, entered her heavenly home on October 24, 2024, with family by her side. A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL, 36867 on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10:00 am EST followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am EST officiated by Reverend Robb Goodman.

Berma W. Tolson was born in Roanoke, AL, on November 11, 1937, to the late Gart and Effie Waldrep. Berma married the love of her life, Aubrey Tolson, and remained his dedicated and faithful wife for 66 years. Together they started a plumbing business, Tolson Plumbing, where she worked for 41 years until their retirement. Berma was full of sass and straight to the point. She never met a stranger and for those who knew her could not help but love her. She enjoyed shopping, taking trips to the casino, and baking; but most of all she loved watching her great-grandson, Colt, play golf. Berma will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Berma Tolson is preceded in death by her parents, Gart and Effie Waldrep; son, David Ray Tolson; and sister, Nettie Motley.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Aubrey Tolson of Phenix City, AL; daughter, Susan Tolson Norton of Phenix City, AL; bonus son, Richard Norton of Fort Payne, AL; grandchild, Katie Sue Russell (Darrell) of Salem, AL; great grandson, Remington “Colt” Russell; and numerous of friends who were like family. A special thanks to those who helped with making sure she was comfortable during the last the few months of her life.
