Bessie "Glenda" C. Reaves

Bessie “Glenda” Conger Reaves, 76, of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Phenix City Health Care while surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held 11 am EDT Wednesday morning, August 23, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Robert Goodman officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.
Mrs. Reaves was born April 11, 1941 in Wedowee, AL to the late Andrew Z. “AZ” Conger and Clara White Conger.  She was employed for many years with Opelika Manufacturing as an inspector, and retired from the Phenix City School System.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, camping and the outdoors.  She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Keith Reaves, and two brothers, Bill Conger, and Garry Conger.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Gerald A. Reaves of Smiths Station, AL, daughter, Tina Wommack and husband Jay of Columbus, GA, son Craig Reaves and wife Tracy of Jacksonville, FL, two sisters, Era Bowden and husband Cleve of Phenix City, AL, and Brenda Holmes and husband Bill of Opelika, AL, four brothers, Glenn Conger of Wedowee, AL, Kenneth Conger and wife Loretta of Wedowee, AL, Dwight Conger and wife Reba of Woodland, AL, and Larry Conger and wife Kim of Wedowee, AL, two grandchildren, Landon Williams, and Hunter Wommack, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.
