Beth Newman

Beth Richerson Newman, 64, of Salem, AL died on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, surrounded by family while at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Monday, November 25, 2024, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Chaplain Allison Owen officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Newman was born November 11, 1960, in Bay Minette, AL daughter of the late Melvin Murphy Richerson and Nora Mae Cooper Richerson. She attended The Highlands Church, Opelika, AL where she worshiped with family and friends. Mrs. Newman worked for Columbus Dental Lab, where she was part of a caring team. She was also very funny and enjoyed a good joke or prank.

We are heartbroken, she is no longer with us, but we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with family and friends in Heaven.

Mrs. Newman was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Nora Mae Richerson; her husband, Larry Wayne Newman; two sons, Gregory Plunkett and Jacob Jamieson and two brothers, Tony and Johnny Richerson. 

Survivors include her son, Jason Jamieson, Salem, AL; two sisters, Sharon Still (Lamar), Opelika, AL and Lynn Hadley (Lonell), Bay Minette, AL; one brother, Steve Richerson (Linda), Bay Minette, AL; one granddaughter, Taylor; several nieces, nephews and friends.
