Bettie Jo Faulkner Jackson, age 78, was born August 22, 1937, and died on September 28, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Jackson was born in Roanoke, Al., the only child of Winfred Faulkner and Robbie Breed Faulkner. She attended and graduated from Handley High School in Roanoke.
She married Robert C. “Bob” Jackson, in 1955, and they were side by side for 58 years, until his death in 2013. We take great comfort in knowing that Mom and Dad are together once again, holding hands.
Mrs. Jackson was a Baptist by faith. She lived in the Smiths Station community for many years, and was a tireless volunteer in the Smiths Athletic Association, Smiths Ruritan Club, and countless other civic activities.
She retired as Office Manager for Smiths Water Authority, and enjoyed traveling with her husband, showing their antique cars, gardening, and cooking wonderful food.
Other than her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Donald Jackson, and is survived by her son and daughter in law, Ronald and Rhonda Jackson, her daughter and son in law, Robin and Jimmy Gaylor, and their three sons, Matthew, Winn, and Adam Gaylor.
