Mrs. Betty Jo Bailey

Mrs. Betty Crockett Bailey, 92, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Canterbury Health Care Facility in Phenix City, AL.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA. There will be no formal visitation.

Mrs. Bailey was born on April 11, 1931 in Heard County, GA, daughter of the late Wesley Crockett and Fannie Mae Terrell Crockett. She worked for many years at Swift, where she was an administrative assistant with production and planning. Mrs. Bailey enjoyed taking care of her flowers, watching nature and attending church service. She was a former member of Hillside United Methodist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Bailey; a daughter, Tammy Shute; a son, Robert Wesley Hill and brother, Bobby Crockett.

Her survivors include two daughters, Sheila Bloodworth and husband John of Phenix City, AL and Jo Gillbreath and husband Stephen of Tallahassee, FL; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; her neighbors, Sue and Kathy, as well as her friends and staff at Canterbury Health Care Facility.
