Mrs. Betty Harper Cunningham, 83, of Columbus, GA passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA.
A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 21, 2022, 10:00 am EST at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N, Phenix City, AL.
Mrs. Cunningham was born January 22, 1938 in Tallassee, AL, daughter of the late Willie Martin Harper and Edith Caldwell Sims. She worked in the transportation industry along with her husband for most of her career. Mrs. Cunningham loved taking care of her dogs, the favorite of which was the Shih Tzu breed. She was a huge Elvis fan but above all, she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Jay Cunningham; as well as a sister, Barbara Wilson.
She is survived by a daughter, Patti Fahrenkrug and husband Robert of Phenix City, AL; five sons, Jimmy Holloway and wife Lynn of Phenix City, AL, Ronnie Holloway and wife Karen of Columbus, GA, Chuck Howard and wife Tracy of Cocoa, FL, Rick Cunningham and spouse Vincent of Richmond, VA and John Cunningham and spouse Kevin of Oakland, CA; one brother, Jimmy Harper of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Nichole Beausoleil (Mike), Jeffery Penton (Tiffany), Jennifer Blackstock (Ben), Ryan Howard (Tania), Billy Holloway, Lisa Holloway and Nadia Holloway; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
