Betty Dismukes

Betty Patrick Dismukes, 81 of Columbus, GA passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Chapel of the Pines in Parkhill Cemetery with Rev.  William G. Moye officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the Chapel of the Pines

Mrs. Dismukes was born March 15, 1934 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Felix A. Patrick, Jr. and Maryan Hardy Patrick. She graduated from Auburn University in 1955, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority.  After college she worked for several years as a teacher but spent most of her life as a devoted wife and mother.  Mrs. Dismukes was a member of the Columbus Duplicate Bridge Club and Rose Hill Methodist Church.

Survivors include, her husband of 61 years, George Dismukes of Columbus, GA; one daughter, Anne Phillips and husband Mike of Peachtree City, GA; one son, George W. Dismukes, III of Columbus, GA; one brother, Felix A. Patrick, III and wife Eleanor of Augusta, GA; three grandchildren, Michael Phillips and wife Jessica, Melanie Staten and husband Blake and Patrick Phillips and wife Reena; one great-grandchild, Chandler Anne Staten; several nieces and nephews, other loving family members and caring friends.
