Betty Jo Cosby

Betty Jo Cosby, 91, of Salem, AL passed away while at her sisters-in-law’s home, Jackie Cosby, with her family by her side on Saturday, May 08, 2021.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Miss Cosby was born September 14, 1929 in Phenix City, AL daughter of the late Ellis William Cosby and Maude Posey Cosby. She was an Auditor for the Rapid American Corp. which was the umbrella for McCrory, McLellan, H. L. Green, Shulte United, Newberry, Kress and TG & Y Stores. Miss Cosby was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was also an active member of the Central Activity Center in Phenix City, AL. She has left a lasting memory on our hearts that will always bring a smile to our face.
Miss Cosby was also preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, sister, Patsy Cosby Johnston, brothers, William Lamar “Spanky” Cosby, J. Emory Cosby and Carroll E. Cosby.
Miss Cosby is survived by numerous caring and devoted nieces, nephews, and close friends.
The family will be gathering at her sister-in-law, Jackie Cosby’s home.
