Betty Lou Jacobs

Betty Lou Jacobs, 77, of Seale, AL, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Midtown Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm EST, on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Vance Memorial Chapel, in Phenix City, AL with Pastor Lyn McManus officiating.

Mrs. Jacobs was born on November 15, 1938, in Jack, AL, the daughter of Tim Hyatt and Mattie Ellis. She worked for The Girls Club of Columbus and was a member of Southside Assembly of God in Savannah, GA. Mrs. Jacobs enjoyed cooking, gardening, bird watching and spending time with her family and friends.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by sisters, Atris Downing and Vurnell Thrower, brothers, Winston Williams, Winfred Williams and grandson Jarrod Smith.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Ray Donnell Jacobs; 3 daughters, Cathy Getskow, husband Paul of Seale, AL, Patty Holden, husband James of Cataula, GA, Karran McLeland of West Point, GA and Jackie Quincey, husband Dan of Ozark, AL; brother, Phil Hyatt, wife Dorothy of Columbus, GA; 5 grandchildren, Shane Denson, Josh Getskow, Cain Getskow, Jessica Hughes, Jewell Nolan; and her beloved pet Jake; several great grandchildren, extended family members and caring friends.
