Betty R. Johnson

Betty R. Johnson, 85 of Crawford, AL passed away Friday evening, on September 12, 2014 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EDT Monday, September 15, 2014 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Steve Williamson and Jacob Johnson officiating. Private interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery and the family will receive friends this evening (Sunday) from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.

Mrs. Johnson was born February 18, 1929 in Columbus, GA to the late George and Derley Rape. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family deeply. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible and was a longtime time member of Crawford Baptist Church. She was a past president of the Pilots Club and member of the Lizzie Rutherford U.D.C. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson, son, Carl William “Bill” Johnson and brother, James Lewis.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her children, Judge Albert Louis Johnson and wife Jean of Crawford, AL, Charles Allen Johnson and wife Marcia of Crawford, AL, Jane Johnson Brady and husband David of Phenix City, AL and Daniel Lynn Johnson, Crawford, AL; grandchildren, Summer Johnson, Jennifer LeRoy (Jeff), Rebecca Johnson, David Johnson (Laura), Adam Johnson (Kristie), Amy Bickerstaff (Arthur), Micah Johnson (Mandy) and Jacob Johnson (Ellen); and 9 Great grandchildren; numerous other family members, church family and many caring friends.
