Betty Sue Deese Rivera

Mrs. Betty Sue Deese Rivera, 76, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at her home.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 7, 2025 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm EST, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rivera was born June 7, 1948 in Fitzgerald, GA. She worked the majority of her career with Muscogee County at the Department of Family and Children Services. She enjoyed reading and arts and crafts. However, her passions were taking care of dogs, especially rescues and spending time with her family.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Hutchinson.

Mrs. Rivera is survived by her husband, Troy Karnes; two sons, Modesto “Scooter” Rivera and Jesse Rivera; a brother, Jesse Deese; grandchildren, Brittany Norton (David), Blake Rivera, Bentley Rivera, Hudson Rivera, Halie Rivera and Laney Rivera; as well as several extended family and friends.
