Betty S. White

Betty S. White, 83, of Salem, Al, entered her heavenly home on October 1, 2024. Betty was born on December 6, 1940, to the late Louri and Irvin Clayton Bryant. She was a dedicated wife and mother caring for her husband until his passing and always being involved with her children and grandchildren. Betty was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, an organization that supports veterans, service members, and their families. She was a strong-willed woman of faith. In her free time, she enjoyed nature, from admiring butterflies, flowers, and hummingbirds to gardening. Betty taught country line dancing for 18 years with her husband and loved dancing and singing karaoke. She was the life of the party. She also took any opportunity to go on a cruise. She was devoted to her family and particularly enjoyed hosting catfish dinners for them. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Betty S. White is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray White; parents, Louri Harrison Bryant and Irvin Clayton Bryant; son, Chester Lee Harrison; brothers, Marvin Bryant, Jack Bryant, and Billy Bryant; and sister, Carolyn Brannon.

Betty S. White is survived by her daughters, Leslie Gohman (Phil) of Opelika, Al, and Sylvia Tomblin (Archie) of Salem, Al; son, Alvin Harrison (Rosalie) of Opelika, Al; sisters, Jane Cloud and Evelyn Williams; brother, Lester Bryant; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and one great-grandson.

A visitation will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, Al 36867 on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 12:00 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 pm and will conclude with a Committal Service at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
