Bill E. Wester

Bill E. Wester, age 73, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Piedmont Midtown Columbus Medical Center.  Memorial services are scheduled at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, December 20, 2019, 6 p.m. with Reverend Ritchie Ashburn officiating.  The family will receive friends after the service on Friday, December 20, 2019 until 8 p.m.

Mr. Wester, son of the late Daniel Wayne Wester and Mildred Louise Frost Wester, was born May 23, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia.  After high school, Mr. Wester served honorably during the Vietnam Era Conflict in the U.S. Navy, and  began a career as an electrician.  After leaving the military, he served as an electrician for residents and businesses in the Chattahoochee Valley for over 50 years.  In addition to his electrician career, he also helped many families in the area as a building contractor.

Mr. Wester Was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local # 613 and #779.  He enjoyed spending time salt water fishing.  You could always count on his expertise on projects, "if it was broke, he would fix it."  The family remembers him as a good, kindhearted man, who loved his family immensely. He always found time to be with and take care of his family, especially his grandchildren.

Other than his parents, Mr. Wester was preceded in death by two sons, Blake Wester and Brady Wester; and a sister, Betty Wester Adams.  He is survived by his wife, Wanda Wester of Phenix City, Alabama; five sons, Brian Wester and his wife Hollie of Aiken, South Carolina, Ben Wester and his wife Samantha of Smiths Station, Alabama, Bradley Wester and his wife Jaryn of Phenix City, Alabama, Heath Kirkman and his wife Kelli of Pittsview, Alabama and Brandon Wester of Savannah, Georgia; brother, Brett Wester of Phenix City, Alabama; five grandchildren, Haley Kirkman of Columbus, Georgia, Peyton Kirkman of Pittsview, Alabama, Brady S. Wester of Phenix City, Alabama, Evelynn Wester of Smiths Station, Alabama; and Becca Wester of Aiken, South Carolina;  many other relatives and friends.
