Mr. Bill G. Carpenter, 65, of Phenix City, AL passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Regional Rehab in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Tommy Fountain officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am EST, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Melvin Goodwin, Don Barrow, Chris McConnell, Jeffery Hall, Buddy Rainey, Tim Brown and honorary pallbearer, Lamar Tyner.
Mr. Carpenter was born May 18, 1958 in Wurzburg, Germany, son of the late James Hurbert Carpenter and Theresa Paul Carpenter. He worked as a Maintenance Manager for Tiya, a maintenance contractor on Ft. Benning. Mr. Carpenter enjoyed Alabama football, the Atlanta Braves and playing cards. Above all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Carpenter; two sisters, Donna Carpenter Stringfellow and Clorinda Carpenter McConnell; brothers-in-law, David Jenkins and Larry Stringfellow.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Judy Jenkins Carpenter of Phenix City, AL; two sons, Jared Carpenter and wife Carson and Brock Carpenter and wife Kelly, all of Phenix City, AL; sisters, Terry Chapman and Glenda Sanders, both of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Cooper Carpenter, Kennedy Carpenter, Hayden Ward and MaKenzee Ward; life long friends that were like brothers, Lamar Tyner (Sharon) and Melvin Goodwin (Nanci); several extended family and friends.
