Billie Jo Manville, 83 of Phenix City, AL went to her eternal home in heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 19, 2016.
Funeral services will be 3:00 on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Vance Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Bobby Watford and Dr. Wayne Scarborough officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 at Vance Memorial Funeral Home on Hwy. 280 in Phenix City, AL. A private Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Manville was born January 7, 1933 in Phenix City, AL to the late Arthur Paul Brooks, Sr. and Thelma Copeland Brooks. She is preceded in death by her brother Arthur Paul (Chris) Brooks, Jr. and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years Robert L. Manville Sr., and four loving sons Robert L. Manville, Jr. (Pam) of Dallas Oregon, Mark S. Manville (Patti) of Phenix City, AL, James (Jimmy) B. Manville (Sheryl) of Seale, AL, Joseph (Joe) P. Manville (Jennifer) of Athens, AL and sister Bettye Faye Cain of Phenix City, AL. She was called “MeeMaw” and “Mimi” by her 7 grandchildren: Heather Manville of Phenix City, AL, Rachel Shead (Leo) of Carlby Lincolnshire, England, James T. Manville of Smith Station, AL, Brandon K. Hinesley (Keeli) of Phenix City, AL, Christopher M. Minney of Rome, GA and Jillian Manville of Athens, AL and her 3 great grandchildren: Anthony L. Manville of Phenix City, AL, Ethan Shead, and Hannah Shead both of Carlby Lincolnshire, England.
She was a Godly woman, devoted wife and who was known by many people as “Honey” or “Mrs. Honey”. She was a great cook of many dishes but well known for her Banana Pudding and Peach Cobbler at local church gatherings. Her family always looked forward to Monday night dinners.
She was also a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker who had also worked many years and retired from the Phenix City School System. She served the Lord and was a member of United Baptist Church in Phenix City. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed game nights with her church family, listening to southern gospel music, playing Rummikub, working puzzles and had a competitive spirit while playing any type of board and card game.
Honey, Mee Maw, Mimi, Billie Jo – You will forever be missed and we look forward to seeing you again in Heaven!!!
