Billy Dawson

Billy Wayne Dawson, 80, of Salem, AL died at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA on Sunday, March 21, 2021 with his family by his side.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Ken Dawson officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Dawson was born December 21, 1940 in Columbus, GA son of the late Jammie Lee Dawson and Mildred Dykes Dawson. He retired from the Alabama Power Co. after 40 ½ devoted years of service as a Line Crew Supervisor. During his long and distinguished career, he served as President of the National Management Association. Because he was safety minded, he also served as President of the Safety Council for many years. His commitment to his job ensuring others had power was always top priority. Thank you for your dedication to our community.  In his spare time, he loved to fish and watch NASCAR with his family. We will always cherish his memories in our hearts.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Shirley Littleton Dawson, Seale, AL; two children, Timothy Dawson (Rebecca), Hogansville, GA and Stephanie Dawson Johnson (Eric) Salem, AL; several other family members and numerous friends also survive.
