Billy J Johnson, 81, of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, Georgia.

 

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 7, 2021 at Lakeview Memory Gardens Phenix City, Alabama with Bruce Johnson officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.

Billy Johnson was born on July 29, 1939, in Echo, AL, the son of Joseph Harvel Johnson and Leola Johnston Johnson. He retired as the Post Master in Warm Springs, GA after 30 years of service. Billy was also Self Employed for 55 years as a Tax Preparer.  He was an active member of his community and Trinity United Methodist Church of Phenix City, AL.  Bill loved his family, almost as much as Alabama Football. He loved working with numbers and playing golf. His strength and wisdom guided many over the years and impacted the lives of those around him. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Harvel Eugene Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Charlotte Johnson; Sister In-Law, Sharon (Ronnie) Spann; two Daughters, Cindy (Joe) Adams, Tracy Mills; Son, Phillip (Gina) Johnson; two Grandsons, Ryan (Leigh) Jenkins, Hobby Mills; three Granddaughters, Morgan (Logan) Johnson, Dr. Caylor (Ryan) Johnson, Carter (Brandon) Hudson, Great Granddaughter, Ashley Jenkins; three Great Grandsons, Silas Jenkins, Ansel Krafthefer, Beau Hudson; as well as several extended family and caring friends.
