Billy H. Killingsworth, 89, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm EDT on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Todd Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Killingsworth was born on January 26, 1935, in Geneva County, AL, to the late Roy Killingsworth and Mettie Killingsworth Williams. He dedicated 30 years of service as a sales representative with Skinner's Furniture, touching the lives of many homes and families across the Phenix City/Russell County community. Billy found joy in gardening, working in his yard, fishing, going to and having yard sales, and listening to George Jones songs. He cherished sharing memories and spending quality time with his family. He was a Christian and was a Baptist by faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Killingsworth was preceded in death by three brothers: J.L. Killingsworth, Robert Killingsworth, and Hilton Killingsworth.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jean Ivey Killingsworth of Phenix City, AL; two daughters: Deborah Hanks (Steve) of Phenix City, AL, and Cheryl Page (Tony) of Canton, GA; two sisters: Shirley Nowlan of Phenix City, AL and Glenda Hearn (Danny) of Smiths Station, AL; four grandchildren: Nicole Lewis (Robert), Valorie Blankinship (Matt), T.J. Page (Amy), and Harrison Hanks; seven great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Roughton (Jacob), Dylan Mitchell, Cayden Lewis, Caleb Blankinship, Aiden Blankinship, Addison Blankinship, and Easton Blankinship; one beloved great-great-grandchild: Kaysen Roughton; numerous nieces, nephews as well as other extended family members who held a special place in his heart alongside many caring friends.
Billy's legacy of love and devotion will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace knowing he was cherished deeply and will be dearly missed.
