Bobby H. Norton

Bobby H. Norton, 82, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, August 17, 2018 in the comfort of his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Monday, August 20,  2018  at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Jonathan Pike and Rev. Shane Allen officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mr. Norton was born November 26, 1935 in Pike County, AL to the late William Henry and Lonie Ophelia Maughon Norton.  He was employed with Fieldcrest Mills with 47 years of loyal service and was retired.  He enjoyed all types of automobiles and NASCAR collectables.  He loved the outdoors and spending quality time with all his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Ladonia.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death his daughter, Lisa Norton, one sister, Ela Mae Stewart, and five brothers, J D Norton, Luico Norton, Harvey Norton, Frazier Norton, and Othel Norton

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Loumerle “Merle” Wambles Norton of Phenix City, AL, one son, Rusty Norton and wife LaDania of Phenix city, AL, (2) grandchildren, Brandon Norton and wife Mary, and Andrew Norton and wife Lauren, and (2) precious great grandchildren, Lilah, and Tobias, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.
