Bobby L. Dorrill

Bobby L. Dorrill, 81, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday afternoon, November 19, 2023 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA with his family by his side.
Mr. Dorrill was born November 15, 1942, in Pike County, AL, son of the late Calve Lee Dorrill and Nealtha Edwards Dorrill. He served as a Fire Suppression Captain for the City of Phenix City for 24 loyal years and was retired. He was a member of the Firefighters Association. He was a Christian and a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Phenix City where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher of the Senior Class. He enjoyed playing his guitar, music, fishing and the outdoors, NASCAR, Alabama Crimson Tide football, and loved cheering on the Central High School Red Devils.
Other than his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Henry Dorrill.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Margie Bell Dorrill of Phenix City, AL; daughter, Stacie Dorrill Boyd and husband Mike of Phenix City, AL; son, Scott Dorrill and wife Sandy of Phenix City, AL; one brother, William Dorrill and wife Connie of LaGrange, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry Bell and wife Denise of Early, TX and Frankie Bell and wife Pam of Phenix City, AL; two grandchildren, Ashlie Boyd Healey and husband Dakota and Brandon Dorrill and wife Michelle; three precious great-grandchildren, Kaylie Belle Healey, Greyson Dean Healey and Jackson Ray Healey; several nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and many caring friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Firefighters Honors will be held at 3:00 pm EST on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Pastor Stephen Ward and Pastor Jonathan McLain officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Wednesday at the funeral home in Phenix City.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA in memory of Mr. Bobby L. Dorrill.
