Bobby Lee Ellis

Bobby Lee Ellis, 68, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA while surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm EDT Friday, April 8, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Jerry Sauls officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday evening one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.

Bobby was born October 31, 1947 in Columbus, GA to the late Osborne O. Ellis and Eunice Mildred Oglesby Jenkins.  He was worked for the Muscogee County Health Department.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, grilling, had a passion for old classic cars, and liked taking trips to the casino.  He was a Baptist by faith.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David O. Ellis and Royce Ellis.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Charlene Cook Ellis of Columbus, GA, a daughter, Ami Ellis Pelt and husband Keith of Columbus, GA, his only grandchild, Lacie Pelt, nephews, Gene (Stephanie) Ellis, Michael (Ann) Ellis, numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends. He will be greatly missed by his furry kids…Buddy, Lucy, Weasley and Molly.
