Bonnie Faye Boutwell Evans, 85, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Sunday morning, January 8, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held 11:00 am EST Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Dr. Wayne Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mrs. Evans was born April 20, 1931 in Springhill, AL to the late Milzie Boutwell and Annie Mae Whitehead Boutwell. She was retired from Fieldcrest Mills and a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Phenix City. Her passion was her family and friends, she had a spirit of hospitality, always visiting and doing for others in need. She enjoyed baking cakes and pies, and cooking, she touched many lives by sharing food from her home and heart. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by several siblings, Bruneze Rainey, Rudolph Boutwell, Pauline Allen, Ray Boutwell, Walter Boutwell, and Maudine Gratham.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Castilla “Pop” Evans of Phenix City, AL, her children, Steve Evans of Phenix City, AL, Wanda Evans Senn and husband Roger of Brundidge, AL, Cathy Evans Barnhardt of Phenix City, AL, and Mickey Evans of Phenix City, AL, one sister, Clara Annie Miller of Phenix City, AL, four grandchildren, Heath Evans, Brandy Senn, Michael Bratton, II (Jenn), and Dalton Evans, two precious great grandchildren, Kelsey Evans, and Cale Bratton, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
