Bonnie Jean Renfroe Flynn, 89, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Saturday morning, August 24, 2024, in the comfort of her daughter’s home in Phenix City, AL

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm EST on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Tim Kinney officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to her funeral service on Thursday at the funeral home in Phenix City.

Mrs. Flynn was born January 24, 1935, in Josie, AL, daughter of the late T. W. Renfroe and R. Dealier Singleton Renfroe. She was employed with Tom’s Foods in Columbus, GA with 45 years of loyal service and retired. She loved working in her flower garden, cooking and baking, and traveling. She cherished her children and all her grandchildren and enjoyed spending quality time with all her family. She loved fellowship, giving hugs and receiving hugs. She was a longtime member of New Beginning Baptist Church in Phenix City.  Serving as pallbearers are Michael Williams, David Flynn, Taylor Simmons, Hunter Flynn, Brooks Flynn, Caden Williams, Thomas Renfroe and Dylan Hadley.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ralph “Eddie” Flynn; sisters, Peggy Johnson, and Dean Campbell, and brothers, Rev. Willie O. Renfroe, Kenneth Renfroe, and Bobby Joe Renfroe.

She is survived by her children, Faye Flynn Watson and husband Craig of Phenix City, AL, and Steve W. Flynn and wife Susan of Daphne, AL; sisters, Nell Sanders of Glenwood, AL, and Marilyn Poe of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Michael Williams (Christie), David Flynn (Robin), Stacy cox (Charlie), and Mac Watson; eight great-grandchildren, Brittany Simmons (Ciera), Taylor Simmons (Kaleigh), Caden Williams, Jagger Watson, Hunter Flynn, Brooks Flynn, Wyatt Massey, and Dylan Hadley; three precious great- great-grandchildren, Addie Simmons, Riggins Simmons, and Ollie Massey; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many caring friends.

 The Flynn family would like to express a special gratitude of appreciation to Enhabit Hospice and Home Health, and to Chaplain Kenneth Wilcox, Linda Buchannon, Olivia Brown, Renee Clark, Renee Wright, Shana Harrison, and Morgan in the office for all their love and care shown to Mrs. Flynn and the Flynn family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to New Beginning Baptist Church.
