Brenda Kay Evers

Brenda Kay Evers, age 76, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 23,2023 at Columbus Hospice House. A celebration of life will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 2:00pm with Reverend Clay Duck officiating.

Brenda was born on January 4, 1947 in Blakely, Georgia to the late John R. Rimes and Florence Wilson Rimes. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. She retired after many years as an Accounting Specialist at Aflac.

Brenda loved to bake as well as make homemade pickles and pepper jelly for family and friends. She enjoyed playing with her beloved dog, Gizmo. Brenda also enjoyed attending church and visiting her relatives in south Alabama. The thing she loved to do above all else, was spend time with her family.

The family will remember her as a loving, joyful lady who was always thinking of others.

Other than her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristy Buck. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Rimes, and his wife, Nancy Rimes. She is survived by her son, Chris Buck and his wife Rachelle of Smiths Station, Alabama; grandson, Tyler Franklin and his wife Madison of Phenix City, Alabama; granddaughters, Sydney Buck of Smiths Station, Alabama and Baylee Lariviere of Fortson, Georgia; great grandson Turner Franklin; best friend, Pam Milner of Columbus; and many other relatives and friends.
