Brevett “Slim” Don Porter

Brevett “Slim” Don Porter, 70, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at his residence in Columbus, GA. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Porter officiating. Slim was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 3, 1943 to the late Chester Conray Porter and Leone Strutz. Slim worked for over 47 years as an Over the Road truck driver, was in charge of the neighborhood crime watch and loved walking his dog Molly. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steve Porter. Slim is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jonne Porter, daughter Tammy Porter Shelton (Paul) of Columbus, GA; two sons, Mark Porter of Appleton, WI; Edward Porter (Lisa) of Little Chute, WI and one grandchild, Corinna Shelton. Slim was a loving husband, father, PaPa and was deeply loved by his family, he will be forever missed.
