Brigitte Waltraut Mills

Brigitte Waltraut Wenda Mills, 86, of Phenix City, AL passed away early Monday morning, September 12, 2016 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 pm EST on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Jon Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon to 12:30 pm EST on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mills was born April 24, 1930 in Germany to Bruno Wenda and Lydia Hoenig.  Mrs. Mills served as a school teacher and educated in both public and Christian schools all over the United Sates as she traveled with her husband during his military career.  She had a passion for reading her Bible and was very active within the churches where they served.  She loved teaching Sunday School and enjoyed spending quality time with her family.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Mark Ernest Mills, Sr., she was also preceded in death by several family members in Germany.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Ernest Mills, Jr. and wife Linda of Phenix City, AL, Paul Douglas Mills and wife Diana of Raleigh, NC, and James Mills and wife Becky of Wilmington, NC; (8) grandchildren, Steven Mills (Lauren), Kurt Mills (Jana), Stephanie Collier (Chris), Karla Mills, Lexi Cavazos (Aaron), Michael Mills, Kristin Pack, and Morgan Mills, and (6) great grandchildren, Josiah Mills, Juliana Mills, Jefferson Mills, William Pack, Savannah Mills, and Jordan Collier, as well as, numerous other loving family members locally and abroad.  Online condolences may be made at www.vancememorialchapel.net
